An Integrative Approach to Healing
Foundation
Karen’s work is based on the understanding that our experiences are held across the whole system; in thoughts and beliefs, in the body, in the nervous system and in the energetic patterns we carry. Trauma, stress and long‑held experiences don’t just sit in the mind; they can be stored in muscle tension, posture, breath, gut responses, emotional reflexes and the subtle energetic shifts that happen when the body is trying to protect us.
This perspective guides how she supports people. Instead of working only with what someone can describe, she pays attention to the layers underneath: the nervous‑system states that shape reactions, the subconscious beliefs that keep looping, the physical cues that signal where the body is holding on and the narratives that have formed over time. She also recognises that some responses come from early imprinting or inherited patterns; things we didn’t choose but still feel.
Approach
Karen’s approach is gentle, collaborative and centred on helping your system feel safer and more connected. She understands that some experiences can be spoken about, while others are held in the body, in the nervous system or in long‑standing protective patterns.
Sessions unfold at your pace. Some days you may want to talk; other days your body may be signalling more than your words can express. Rather than focusing only on what’s difficult, she helps you understand why your system responds the way it does — and what it needs to shift. This includes exploring underlying beliefs, emotional patterns, stress responses, relational dynamics and the ways your body has learned to protect you.
The work is practical, compassionate and deeply respectful. You don’t need to arrive with a clear story or “know what to say”. What ever you are navigating, Karen supports you to reconnect with your own clarity, strength and inner resources.
You can choose to work with Karen through counselling, kinesiology or a combination of both; depending on what feels right for you and what your system needs.
